The Galatina Project features a series of surreal photographic collages and virtual installations inspired by the mythical and symbolic essence of Galatina, Italy—a city rich in historical and cultural significance as a pilgrimage site for women. My artistic process taps into the narrative of the city as a site for supernatural transformation and healing, leveraging natural elements that assume otherworldly powers. Using photogrammetry, I created 3D models of natural elements discovered in Galatina and the surrounding region. These models were then modified, transformed, and integrated into the city’s spaces through augmented reality technology. The resulting collages capture fleeting moments of ephemeral virtual installations—ghostly appearances of natural elements infused with dreamlike hues floating in the city’s urban landscape. They serve as evocative documents, offering glimpses of ethereal manifestations, visible only for a short period of time.
